Born on 19 May 1996 in Pamplona, Antonio Bazán spent 11 seasons with Helvetia Anaitasuna combining handball with his studies for a medical degree. As part of his training to become a doctor, the pivot came to Barcelona to take part in a residency programme. During this time as a Barça player he made 12 appearances in the league, scoring 24 goals as well as taking part in five EHF Champions League matches. Bazán claimed the Catalan Super Cup and the Iberian Super Cup at the start of the 2024/25 season.
With his residency as a doctor complete, the player and FC Barcelona decided to extend their relationship until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Bazán stands out for athletic ability playing as pivot, contributing in attack and defence.
