Born on 8 December in Bordils, Catalonia, Petar Cikusa joined Barça in his early teens and went on to progress through every youth level before ultimately making his debut with the first team.
The debut came in the 23/24 season, specifically on 13 September during an EHF Champions League game against Montpellier. The central defender earned Carlos Ortega's trust and a rotation spot. In fact, he has played 26 games in the Liga Asobal and 14 in the EHF Champions League, having a real impact since his debut. He signed a contract extension with the Club on 18 April 2024 that runs to 30 June 2027, officially confirming his spot with the blaugrana first team.
In his first season with the first team, Cikusa developed rapidly, gaining plenty of playing time and making a serios contribution to the team's successes.
On an international level, Cikusa made his debut for Spain in November 2023 in a game against the Netherlands, a match in which his twin brother Djordje also made his first appearance making the two players the youngest to play for the national side at the time. After moving through the youth categories and quickly reaching the senior side, Cikusa was part of the squad that took part in the 2025 World Championships.
Capable of playing in the middle or on the right, Cikusa stands out for his ability in one on ones and his passing, shooting and vision.
