The World Cup play off final between Sweden and Poland saw Roony Bardghji come out on top with a 3-2 win for the Scandinavians over Robert Lewandowski's team. The Barça winger was on the bench for Sweden's win over Ukraine in the semi-finals but did not make the squad for the final against Poland played at home in Sweden in the city of Solna.
Challenge at Barça and beyond
Roony Bardghji now has the challenge of getting as many minutes as possible to impress Sweden coach Graham Potter between now and the end of the season with the aim of making the final squad for the finals in the summer.
Sweden missed out on qualification for Qatar 2022 and had a poor qualifying campaign for the 2026 tournament. However, their performances in the UEFA Nations League opened up a play off spot and the nail-biting win over Poland lands them a place in the Group F alongside the Netherlands, Japan and Tunisia.
