6. Antonio

From Jaén and born on 19 October, 2000, Antonio Pérez joined his home town club as a youngster before making his First Division debut at the age of 18. 

The defender went on to become an important part of the Jaén Paraíso Interior squad and one of the most promising players in his position in the league. In the summer of 2022 his contract with Jaén came to an end and he came to Barça as a free agent. Pérez quickly established himself in the team coached by Jesús Velasco and made 28 appearances in his first campaign as a blaugrana. His importance in the dressing room has continued to grow as his Barça career has progressed due to his quality and strength in defence. 

Pérez is a full Spanish international and was part of the U19 side that won the World Championships in Riga, Latvia. He made his debut for Spain in November 2021 and since then he has been a fixtures in the national squad, competing in the World Championships in the summer of 2024. 

TECHNICAL PROFILE 

Antonio Pérez is principally a defender but he can play on the wing as well. Apart from his defensive talents he has an excellent touch and shot from outside the area and in the 2024/25 season he was Barça's top scorer.
