Ernesto Valverde: ‘We got better as the game went on’

The Blaugrana coach noted the evolution of the team throughout the match and was content with a win against ‘a great rival in difficult circumstances’

"We need a bit of shooting practice, but we are happy because in spite of everything, we have beaten a great rival," Ernesto Valverde said after watching his players come from behind to win the Spanish Super Cup in Tangiers against Sevilla. The Blaugrana coach valued the victory and acknowledged the difficulties his team encountered: "We fell behind and that cost us, but we got better as the game went on.”

Asked about Dembélé, Valverde was clear: “He’s a player with great qualities and today has left us with something to be happy about in a difficult match.” Finally, the coach referred to the great atmosphere in Tangier: "We experienced a great atmosphere and had many fans giving us support."
