Sergi Barjuan has always been linked to FC Barcelona. As a player he made 386 appearances and won nine trophies and he returned in June 2021 to replace García Pimienta as Barça B coach.
This is Barjuan's third spell at the Club with his first beginning back in 1998 when he joined La Masia from Granollers. The left back progressed quickly through the youth levels before making his first team debut in the 1993-94 season under coach Johan Cruyff. After adding nine trophies to his honours list, he left in 2003 to sign for Atlético Madrid.
After hanging up his boots Sergi Barjuan wasted no time in starting his coaching career. His first job was back at FC Barcelona in charge of the U19B between 2009 and 2011.
After that experience Barjuan coached at Recreativo Huelva (2012/13), RCD Mallorca (2016/17) and at Zhenjiang Greentown in China (2017-2019) before returning to Barcelona.
