Born in L’Hospitalet 17 years ago, Gerard Fernández came to Barça from Cornellà where he spent two seasons. Gerard went back to Cornellà for the U16 season (2018/19), before returning to FC Barcelona's U19A. The 2019/20 season was his breakout campaign with Franc Artiga as coach, scoring 19 goals in the league.
His performances in the U19A side saw him make his debut with Barça B against Villarreal B at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, a game in which he scored a goal, despite the team losing 2-3. In total, he played a total of 8 matches and also had his chance in the play-offs for promotion to the Segunda A played in Andalusia.
He is an international with the Spanish U18 team.
