Forward
He started playing at the Joker School of Basketball in Podgorica (Montenegro), his city of birth, and then joined the youth ranks of Real Madrid in the summer of 2005. He played there until 2014 before signing for the Chicago Bulls.
Five seasons in the NBA saw a total of 359 games played (319 in the regular league and 40 in the play-off) and a global average of 12 points and 5 rebounds per game.
His first stage in the NBA, from 2014 to February 2018, was with the Chicago Bulls - 260 matches - before being transferred to the New Orleans Pelicans, a team with which he played a season (from February 2018 to February 2019). Finally, he joined the Milwaukee Bucks.
Only five months after this team change, however, Nikola Mirotic became a new FC Barcelona signing.
He was proclaimed Eurobasket champion in 2015 with Spain and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Mirotic is an offensive player who stands out for his ability to play around the court and in front of the basket. He's a modern interior that knows how to make the most of his mobility and speed and presents good percentages both in two and three point shots. He's also a safe pair of hands in the free throw and that's reflected by his statistics. His scoring ability is second to none, and he was chosen best player of the ACB in the 2012/13 season.
Despite his long-range scoring ability Mirotic is a player with great intelligence which allows him to play well in the area close to the basket and, above all, help the team on the rebound.
